Scenes from Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru

After a long trip to the Indian Ocean, we finally had arrived to the island we would be spending the next 11 days at.  To find our hotel, we enlisted the help of a travel agent recommended to us by our Greek Travel Agent.  With over 120 resorts in the Maldives, we definitely needed some help.  After a couple back and forths, our travel agent sent us the link to Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru and we immediately knew this was THE place.

Our Personal Palapa
For Nick and I, the island seemed like a mirage after the hours logged on our flights.  We were warmly welcomed by the hotel reception where they welcomed up with a chilled lemon scented towel and a refreshing mint lemonade.

The first impression of the island was amazingness.  We felt immediately at home.  After checking into the resort, we were brought back to our home for the next 10 nights.  Here are a bunch of photos from right around our villa.

Sunset Views
Needless to say the views were absolutely incredible!  There wasn't one time that I did not look out and think how amazing it was.  There were a few islands off in the distance, but really it felt like we were on our own deserted island.  Our villa and space was so personal and private that it made the Banyan Tree the perfect honeymoon destination.

One afternoon, we decided to take a trip around the island and see what else it had to offer.  When I say a trip around, I mean the 10 minute walk from start to finish :)

One of the nice touches of the room was that each morning the staff would give us a new incense and essential oil of the day.  Each of the different types had different meanings and effects.

I could not get enough!
With limited views to photograph, the sunset and the neighboring island got a lot of attention, especially considering the new camera.  The resort had a number of excursions and other treats to take advantage of during our stay.  As you can see, however, sometimes it was a bit difficult to get up and leave our own beach chairs and palapa :)  There is definitely plenty more where these came from!

  1. What I wouldn't do to be there right now. Maldives honestly has never been on my list of top places to go, but I'm intrigued now.
